Where can I bet at New Jersey sportsbooks? It took another six years of legal battles to finally get PASPA overturned and for legal New Jersey sports betting to become reality. However, before the state could proceed, the professional sports leagues and NCAA sued the state to prevent them from doing so. Voters approved the measure back in 2011 in a state referendum and then-Governor Chris Christie signed a bill into law in January of 2012. With that came a flood of New Jersey sports betting activity which saw several casinos and race tracks open sportsbooks and several daily fantasy providers offer mobile betting in New Jersey. On May 14, 2018, the United States Supreme Court finally agreed, opening the door for states to enact sports betting legislation. New Jersey had fought for years to overturn the federal ban on sports betting, claiming it was unconstitutional for Nevada to have a monopoly on the business.
